Good radio for amateur radioI have the RT82 for about 6 weeks and I used it every day. I really like and I’m very impressed with this radio. When configured properly, it is one of the most ham-friendly DMR radios I have used. I really enjoyed the fact that I could upload the full list of DMR IDs into it. If you need a good, customizable DMR/analog dual-band handheld, this radio is a good choice. You can watch my full video review on YouTube.Pascal VA2PV
Good radio that's fun to use. Many features for the price.Good build quality. Nice dual band features. Useful display. I like that I can load the entire USA DMR-MARC user database at one time. No limit of 16 channels per zone! I can now set up one codeplug for multiple states or regions. I would like the radio to add the following features: - Bluetooth audio in/out - Ability to rapidly change zones from the programmable buttons. The programming software (version 1.68) does not allow opening of multiple codeplugs to copy and paste between them. I would also suggest adding the ability to sort by frequency or channel alias to make finding duplicates easier.Paul, WB0BBC

Retevis RT36 Kids Walkie TalkiesI and my son loved RT36 Walkie-Talkie. It was a fun one. RT36 is very attractive. The design is amazing and eye-catching to the kids. The color choice of the product is great! it works great. Voice is clear, the volume can be adjusted. We love the flashlight feature which can be very handy for camping trips and at nights. The dual port charger was a very smart idea. This way you can charge your both RT36 with one cable. This will be a great gift for the kids. RT36 can be very handy for camping trips, hiking, or for any other group activity. This way you don't have to hand them a cell phone. You can communicate with them within the certain distance. This will be also a fun way to communicate around the house.SuperToy

HD1-GPSThis Radio is overall good. The price is very competitive and aesthetics is good with a sense of robustness but the keyboard is a bit noise. The battery has a very long life. The digital modulation is ok, but the analog modulation should be improved, it is a little low and this can be a problem. In the analogue mode, in movement, a background noise is heard. There is some software problem, but this company is very good, listens to its users and releases updates with corrections. For the moment, the GPS position can’t be sent to the APRS network with the BRANDMEISTER network, but the company is working to solve the problem. The messages: from APRS to DMR and from DMR to APRS through the BRANDMEISTER network work.Paolo

RT82 earpiece usabilityI have ordered that one accessory because I thought it would be the most cheaper and most simpler solution to access RT82's 13-pin connector for packet-radio usage over an AX.25 modem that had standardized round 6-pin mini-DIN jack. So the price was good comparing to some bigger external microphone/speaker combos provided by Retevis. And the shipping time was also excellent over the standard cheap postal service. When the package arrived, I tested the item for its primary function, that means listening to the ear and talking by the small mic that can attach to your shirt's pocket or so. It worked quite good. The manual PTT activated TX without problem, and I got good reports from hams who had used local repeaters. I tested the item while continual walking (did not stop for a while to talk), in order to test overall capabilities of portable walking & talking. The reports were good in general. Nevertheless, I want to see how to use that product for old, good packet by using RT82's analog mode. At the moment I still do not have any clue what to do to adapt the earpiece as an interface for attaching the RT82 to a packet modem. In the meantime I got a schematic diagram from the factory, showing a resistor and a capacitor of unknown values somewhere within the earpiece construction. However, I do not have any idea of their locations and functions. Hence I do not know what would be the best way to adapt the earpiece (by disassembling its parts) so to make a proper and usable cable interface to a packet modem. That is why I kept 4 stars only for the quality of the earpiece, as well as 3 stars only for the communication.Miroslav
