Happy Customer

I recently purchased two six packs of the RT27. I wanted to program secure private channels do to using them for work. I reached out to Retevis for support on how to download the software. Turns out the software was already conviently located on their website, I just did not see it as I was new to the site. Retevis were impressivley prompt with returning my email with the correct link. The program and radios seem to work very well.
Thank you, Nick
Good, but could be better with just a couple of additional features.

While overall I am pleased with most of the functions and with having a lower cost MURS radio there are a few small items that this radio is lacking which would cost the manufacturer little to implement. First off, MURS in the US is allowed up to 2W and is allowed to use an external antenna. I think I can boost these to high power by using the software and uploading new settings, but having just one more button or switch to be able to go from low power to high power would allow one to boost the power when needed in the field. Also, if the antenna were removable this could double as a base or mobile radio when attached to a mag-mount type antenna, and vehicles would be able to talk for several miles. Also, they could put at least the model number on the outside of the radio and maybe "MURS". I have around 10 small handheld radios now with different features. If I ask one of my kids to get the MURS radios, I want them to be able to know which ones they are. The scan function is nice, but you can't tell which channel the other station is on since there is no channel display. Some dots or marks on the channel selection knob would be nice to be able to determine which of the 5 channels you are on at a glance. I like the textured grip on the back of the battery which improves grip. There may be other spots on the case where texturing would also help with grip. I am a ham and bought these to use with non-ham friends and family.
Good Radios With A Few Issues

I recently did a review of these radios on our Youtube channel. I like them, they are simple, and it's great to have a cheaper option for the MURS band, since no one else really uses it. I don't think these are really putting out anything near 2W of power. They are recently part 95 approved, and it looked like in their testing, they were only radiating about .3 watts. So, false advertising on that one. The other thing is, I've checked these on a basic spectrum analyzer, and they spurious emissions are very bad, they bleed over to other frequencies terribly. Retevis needs to get this under control. It shouldn't be a problem since they are such low power, but it needs to be fixed. Overall they seem to work fine, and I like where Retevis is going with the simple business-like radios..just try to stay legal.
Excellent radio

Good product, they could come with another charger for one of the radios vs. just the base chargers for both.
Clear sound and easy to use.

We use them for backing up the RV and camp sites and the driveway. Works great. We got headsets with them. I like it.

Took about a week from ordering to my door step. All are there and nothing broken. Tried a couple out. So far, about 3,4 mile, in town, clear both ways.
