Missing parts, resolved!
on Mar 28,2020Missing parts, resolved!this is a great little DMR radio
on Mar 28,2020The trackball is tricky to get used to and is a bit out of place on a portable radio. I would subtract a star for the trackball but, honestly, this is a great little DMR radio. Good battery life, well built, and the programming cable was included which makes it easy to set up. Just go to the Retevis website to download the latest software and firmware, then build your code plug and go. Don’t forget to register for your DMR ID so that you can access the system (yes, you need an ID beyond your FCC call sign to get on the digital nets). In analog mode, this radio works about as well as any of the new crop of budget radios. No complaints at all.i love this radio it is well built feels good in ...

on Mar 28,2020I will know more when I have my license Ham RadioGreat next step DMR Radio.
on Mar 28,2020When I say next step it's great to finally have a dual band DMR radio. So far this radio has performed flawlessly. The support from Retevis has also been outstanding, I haven't had any issues with the radio so far but they have called me and emailed to make sure I didn't have any questions ont setup or use of the radio. My only complaint on it is the navigation ball. I would of liked to have seen a 4 way d pad.The ham radio is a very good DMR radio
on Mar 28,2020The ham radio is a very good DMR radio. It stands up to the rating that it states with IP67 waterproof and dust-proof and it is a very good radio for DMR Ham radio operators that won’t to be mobile.Great handheld
on Mar 28,2020Definitely a great product does what it says easy to program all you have to do is follow the directions. Definitely a quality build doesn’t feel cheap. Make sure you download the program software on any windows computer and it is pretty self-explanatoryGreat Radio!
on Mar 28,2020Received product on time even after I initially was given wrong tracking number. Radio is great, works excellent and you just need to get used to tracking ball, is not a deal breaker for me. Retevis products and service are great, speaking from my own experience, and this is a great addition to my collection!Great radio to get started with DMR
on Mar 28,2020Purchased as my first DMR rig, I was looking for a unit that had GPS capability, as well as VHF and UHF on both DMR and FM. This unit fits the bill perfectly. Included programming cable worked great with my Windows 7 machine and I was able to download the software from the Retevis website. Seems like Retevis is really going out to help Hams get on DMR, which is great. After using this radio for a week, I will say that programming DMR from scratch is not easy, however it is doable. The Retevis software is easy to work with however I will recommend a large monitor. Using a 12" laptop for programming is possible, but not easy. I know a lot of folks complain about the trackball, but once you are used to using it, it's really not that bad. You can program side buttons to do the same functions so it's not necessary to use the trackball. It's semi-protected from accidental use by the circle with arrows around it. Only semi-protected though; it is easy to brush with your fingers when grabbing the radio. Reception using the stock antenna is on par for the antenna of it's size, on FM. On DMR reception is incredibly clear, as it's digital. Audio is nice & loud on the internal speaker; I've had no trouble listening either indoors or outdoors. For me, the radio is a tad large however I'm used to a UV-5R which is substantially smaller. It's definitely solid though and the buttons have a great feel. The screen is nice, bright and easy to read; however it is not dimmable (currently) so iNot bad
Manu Pardo CA3MPR on Jul 20,2019The radio have a good design, and works well on dmr. But doesn't have newer versions of firmware available and in analogue mode I wasn't able to listen other stations (poor reception). Also, I can't use other antennas than the stock. And the display is too bright. A positive thing is the IP67.
