Matthew E.One of the radios is missing line 14, wide/narrow band, in the menu. Plus the radios come configured on sub channels for privacy. Took some time to fix that. but still a high quality product.SouthguyGet this pair of radios. You have great audio on FM. Good reception on vox. easy to use for the people who are not radio nerds. Easily programmed by the download on Retrvis site. Uses Wouxun/Baofeng cable. Full 5 watts GMRS. FRS. Support for repeaters. Good battery. Let’s face it, try to get people in your life to get their amateur ticket is impossible. The GMRS license is a no brainer. As long as someone in the family has one. Good to go. For $60 you get decent range. Plus for backcountry stuff you have USB charging. Get a vehicle set up with a cheap repeater will extend that range quite a bit. I have General Amateur license due for renewal soon. Gonna get both licenses. GMRS is the place I would put my money today. The whole political climate plus weather events makes this a super appealing option. The market is trending that way too. Expect more capability in the future. Meanwhile you do not want to over complicate the interface for the radios. Turn on. Select channel and communicate. Keep it simple and good! Prefer USB charging compatible and think it's a winner, but narrowband could be a deal breaker - although I don't know much about it.
