These radios are easy to set up and their range is fantastic. I would highly recomend them
Radio was as advertised. Delivery was early and in great condition.
Sound quality is good on reception and I've gotten "loud and clear" reports on transmissions on both power settings, easily reaching repeaters more than 40 miles from me. High and low power settings are easily changed on front panel and microphone button.
For amateur radio operators, with good eyes, this is a very good value.
This is a great radio with a lot of power. Just be careful you don't run it on high all the time. You don't really need 50 watts consistently when you're talking to the next town over. 50 watts is when you're talking to the next country over!
Liked it so much I bought two.
This was a very good little radio ... it, unfortunately was in a vehicle that was stolen, but it worked great for the year I had it.
So far, it has been a very capable radio that's easy to program and use and I recommend it.
Well I've had it almost 2 years.I like it and it works.
This is a very nice and capable radio, especially for the price. It has plenty of power and I love the functions.
This is proving to be a good radio for the price. Some of the menu items are not intuitive, and I needed to do some research to figure out if I needed those features or not. I do like that all the buttons are on the face of the radio so they are easy to see and use. Sound quality is excellent, both sending and receiving. Matched with a good antenna I'm able to broadcast clearly for over 40 miles in simplex. And it's rugged too. I have it mounted in an old Willys Jeep that shakes and bounces a lot, but the radio continues to work perfectly.
I have two of these radios and have really only used one of them. I found them to be fairly easy to program once I learned how to do it. I am using one of these radios as a base unit and am hitting repeaters 20 to 30 miles away consistently with a homemade antenna hanging in the window of my house. I got the second one to install in my truck, but haven't got that done yet. These seem to be good radios for the price. The only problem I have with them is the speaker quality is not the greatest, but it's not that bad. Overall these are good radios for the price.
I liked the controls and easy functionality of this radio. It’s well designed for anyone to use. Very user adaptable.
I've had this radio for a few weeks in my shack. Wired to a Tram 1480 mounted 35' above the ground. It receives all of my local repeaters
I love the multi-channel display and having the 50 watts in case I ever need it. Remember, always use the lowest power setting, always. It sounds really nice as well. The display is easy on the eyes when it is sunny in the cab. It truly is worth its price! Oh.... and be sure to buy a quality antenna.
