It's getting very hard to find radios for the 1.25M band. The radio comes with a USB programming cable. The radio is very easy to program using CHIRP or just entering the frequency from the front panel. The radio has three power levels 12W, 30W, 55W measured with a Bird 43 watt meter. I have been using the radio to access a few 1.25M repeaters in the area. I get good reports on my audio and accessing the repeaters. I just purchased a second radio to use portable or in my car.

These 9000D radios work well for me. Have a 220 and 440 version. I'd say my yaesu 2m mobile is cleaner in sound quality, but these are fine and built like a tank. Good radio to have in the car, seems like it will handle the extremes in hot and cold throughout the year.

I like a more subtle click on the mic. This one is a quite dexterous and audible click when keying.
Programming without a cable is not intuitive.
All in all it’s a great radio. Working simplex with a friend, we were able to reach 12.4 miles full quiet, and 22.2 miles before dropout. Not too shabby.

The PL tones and off-set frequencies are easy to set. Once you get the hang of it the rest is a breeze. No need to use the software or data cable included. I use this radio for GMRS so I only programmed 30 channels leaving 170 channels for scanning other frequencies on UHF. Those other frequencies can be set to TX-OFF to prevent accidental transmissions on them. The scanning function is easy to start and stop. It also has a channel lockout setting. You can name each channel with up to seven characters. Overall, I can't find anything to complain about this radio. I'm very pleased with it. Retevis did a great job on the RT-9000D.

With a 12 amp power supply this radio puts out the advertised 10/25/45 watts. 45 watts is the default power level and the power level can be set for each channel. Programming this radio manually is very easy.

The speaker audio quality is very good, loud and clean even at max volume. The microphone audio quality is also very good. I've received good reports over the air.

This is an excellent quality radio at a great price. It is well built with solid construction throughout. The default display color is blue and matches that of my Galaxy radio that sits next to it. Together they look super cool. The default display brightness is just right out of the box. No adjustments were needed.
