Great little radio for the right price. It says 25W and that's what it does. Plenty of features. Was able to program utilizing their software and cable on Windows 10 machine
I wanted a simple mobile dual band for my vehiche so I didn't have to deal with hand held HTs in my car. Overall quality and feels is very good. Receive audio is great and folks on the other end of my transmissions report "loud and clear". Programming is fairly straight forward and since you can use Chirp, adding my channels was a breeze.
I'm happy that I purchased this RT95 (VOX version) for my Ham station. I'm very old, and I didn't want to learn to program a new radio, so I used the CHIRP program (Windows 10) to set up settings and local repeaters. It's powered by a Lipo4 12VDC 100AH battery (from Amazon), so there is no power supply hum etc. The built-in main speaker has very good audio output. I did use the control panel this afternoon, for setting up the audio level from the microphone. Signal reports said my audio was a bit low. It was set to 1, and I increased it to 3. After watching a YouTube video. Look for "RETEVIS RT95- NEW FIRMWARE MIC GAIN ADJUST" on YouTube. I did also edit the 'Auto Power On', so it wouldn't turn on automatically when 12VDC power is applied. I've got it connected to a large outdoor tri-band antenna with good SWR on 2m & 70cm. So far, I'm really enjoying using my new RT95 VOX.
I'm a lowly tech, so there's not much that I can use it for, but it simply works.
Pros: Price, Performance, audio quality, build quality, programmable buttons on both the radio and the hand mike, microphone "may" be used as a speaker mike, 200 channels, and on an on. This thing is so flexible and easy to "open" to things like GMRS bands. I LOVE this radio. Program the buttons the way you want and you will love it too.
Was going to go with an expensive Radio glad I didn't. This little guy does great super bright display. Easy setup so happy with my purchase think I may get a couple more. Easy to use really don't know how you could do much better unless you just feel the need for more power but this little guy really gets out there.
Awesome radio, I have a bunch of dual band ham radios and this one is excellent and unbeatable for the price!!! Excellent transmit and receive audio! Buy it
Perfect for my needs
Works ok I had no problem with it
I bought this a '24 black friday sale at a reduced price. It's advertised as 'rugged', and I want to eventually put it in my UTV. After playing with it for a few weeks I can say I like it rather much!
Awesome radio! Easy to program and sounds great. Installed in .50cal ammo box with 2 Ryobi batteries for a "GO RADIO". Tried 3 radios from another brand and could not get to work. Very happy I chose this radio.
Fairly easy to install, super easy to program thanks to CHIRP. Working just fine with a cigarette lighter adapter (I will hardwire it down the road). Amazingly easy to program with CHIRP
This is a good radio for the price. The included antenna works well. I am consistently getting into repeaters from 30miles away. Receives clear enough. For the price it is great to have and keep in a vehicle. I did have to adjust the settings to get it to accept more frequencies/bands.
Great bang for your buck. Small and easy to place. Chirp compatibility and ability to “unlock” gmrs. I highly suggest getting the programming cable for quick chirp programming. I have it mapped like my handhelds. Seems sturdy and has a lot of little extras for screen information like signal strength and a multi-colored screen. The screen is a bit small. The mounting bracket for the base is simple but great. The screen rotates 180 for upside-down screen viewing. All around a great little ham/gmrs 25watt radio. It is a SOC (system on a chip) but the sound and signal are clear and not bad on the harmonics. For the price, it’s worth it and great for just starting or as a good Mobile car radio. If you get the cigarette lighter adapter chord you can easily move it from one vehicle to the next. I would buy it again or as a gift.
Great transceiver for the price. Don’t forget to unlock it
This radio exceeded my expectations, especially for the price. My output is about 24.3W. The handheld mic is well built and backlit, which I wasn't expecting. The menu system is simple and easy to use. If you want to dump a large list on it, you can do it programmatically with chirp. The main body has a certain weight and feels well made. Got excellent audio reports from others. There are no premium features, but for the price, I'm very happy with my purchase.
I'm still a new ham. I installed it in my car and this radio does the job with almost no issues. For the price this is a great radio, I get great audio reports and I can connect to my local repeater with no issues.
Function buttons allow customization and quick access to functions from changing power to VOX operation. Sub-audio setup is quick and easy. Working seamlessly and smoothly using Chirp software on my Mac Studio. Upload and download speeds aren't great, but they're okay. The color display is bright and contains all the relevant information you need. Audio quality is very good for a small speaker, and the people I spoke to seemed to hear my audio clearly and pleasantly. All in all, a great little radio that I have in my Jeep. This product has a programmable difficulty of $109 and fits the bill. I'll install it this week and let it go. You know how things go. Very happy with this product, it's a keeper with its solid construction and simple menu.
