RT5R long range FPP dual band ham two way radio

I'm not an expert on CB radios but in comparison to friends ones the RT-5R is a step above in build/sound quality and has many more options than anything bought locally in the same price range, comparable radios are $150+ from what I have looked at. Radio itself performs really well being used in a construction site scenario where I could comfortably transmit and receive through at least 10 floors of concrete slabs / walls, from inside elevators and have so far tested the range though those conditions at a 2 CBD sized block range. I have dropped it several times onto concrete flooring and still operates as new and battery life is great, have owned it for approx. 3months irregularly and have only had to charge it once and that was after listening to FM radio stations for 2 solid 8hr days straight combined with regular use. With the radio I also bought the USB cable to program it and a rubber case. the usb cable works but the software needs some attention as is default in foreign language and has no walk through on how to program the available functions in either English or any other language ended up finding a tutorial on youtube for another similar radio. The rubber case is a bit average, it has quite a loose fit but also stops you from charging the radio directly in the cradle without peeling it off out of the way. Apart from that it serves its purpose of impact resistance. Overall I am quite happy with the product and have recommended it to a few people already.

Seems to be a good product, but one of the LED's in one of the chargers stopped working. It still appears to be charging, just no gauge as the LED is suppose to change color when charged. They work great so far. Used inner plant for locating circuits.

It looks good so far. My staff members are still trying to figure out the usage. We are still learning the different systems and their functions. But as far as they are concerned, it looks good.

The radios arrived in 4 days, we are extremely happy with the delivery time. We used all 10 radios for a 4 day church conference in a downtown venue that had poor cell phone reception. All radios worked great with no issues, the radios are rugged, and after a 10+ hour days the batteries lasted into the following day! Everyone was amazed with the quality of the walkie talkies & the other churches attending the conference took information about these walkie talkies to order some for their congregations. These are great little radios for the price. I own a commercial fishing boat in Alaska and I use them to communicate with my crew when we are on the boat. They help save our voices and make communicating with each other much easier. These radios are inexpensive compared to some of the other alternatives we looked at(up to $3000) and solved our communication problem just as well.

So far so good. This is my first HAM radio and I don't know much about it. So far it works great, all the parts were in the box and delivery time was very good. I'm very happy with purchase.

Great range on these radios. I have purchased all other brand family radios and these absolutely dominate. I live on a mountain in Washington and have tested Motorola radios with"35 mile range" and the first corner about 1/2 mile away lose connection. With the Retevis and the same test my brother was able to drive the same direction for over a mile and after descending about 400' down the other side of the mountain finally losing connection after enough earth, trees and distance were between us. I also work in a factory running over 500 digital ballasts within a few thousand sq ft. This product has 0 problems transmitting through all the electrical interference. Even within a mile of the facility we have decent connection even with many other buildings and warehouses between us. We have only been using these 10 radios at our warehouse for a few weeks but my original test was done on a 2 piece set I bought first to test them. I also got the shoulder mounted mic/speaker with that set. ( mic/speaker arrived a few days later for some reason) great investment if you have your hands full often and just need quick access or if in a loud facility/area where having a loud speaker by your ear is beneficial. But not practical for office workers/managers. While filming a film set in Seattle they work great but, arriving on scene our crew was separated and while getting into the skyscrapers the range was dramatically decreased to a matter of blocks to the point where a cellphone was used. Even with that said though these are an amazing product and for the price you can't get a better more dependable radio. With easy dock charging with red/green light. Dropped on concrete many times. Product came as described. Works perfect. Compact design and features are awesome. Had no problem at all.

The best product you could ask for. It's not even equivalent to the cost. If I said you would get the best bang for your buck, I would be doing this product an injustice. We've purchased atleast ten of these to accommodate security at a shopping center (32,000 sq. ft.)
