Yes, RB48 portable FRS two-way radio directly talks with Retevis all 22-channel FRS radios and Retevis all 16-channel FRS radios on channels 1-5, such as RT22, RT21, H-777, etc.

RB48 can't talk with RB48P directly because they have different CTCSS/DCS settings. You can turn off CTCSS/DCS, and RB48 can talk with RB48P directly. In the standby state of direct call mode, press the [MENU] key twice, adjust the CTCSS/DCS number to "00".

Please don’t worry, this is because the VOX function is turned on. In the standby state of direct call mode, press the MENU key 4 times. VOX will be displayed on the screen, and you can set the VOX level.

In the standby state of direct call mode, press the MENU key 8 times, and the screen will display "U1". Press the Up or Down key to select ON or OFF. Press the PTT key to save the current settings and exit the menu.

Please don't worry, because there is a plastic protective film on the screen of RB48. You can tear it off and use the RB48 walkie talkie normally.

WENT ON A CRUISE FOR 4 DAYS AND 10 OF US HAD THEM AND THEY WORKED GREAT, FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP AND EVEN A MILE FROM SHORE , EVEN THE BATTERY LIFE LAST AT LEAST 10 HRS , I EVEN DROPED MY TWICE AND THE BATTERY POPPED OUT. Our company usually purchases 2-way radios for the job-site for our heavy equipment to communicate with the contractor. They can be pricey and the guys just don't take care of them.After having these radios for approximate a month now, they work great and they are holding up well in the field. Using these for film production. These are great to have on set. The sound quality isn't great, but that's many walkies in general. We once use them 3 days in a row shooting for 12 hours each day and none of them died. Pretty comfortable and good price. Would reccomend
