Designed for business teams to communicate over long distances and to ensure communications reliability, especially in situations where traditional networks may be disrupted, the GMRS has a superior range to FRS and by using the Retevis RT97S GMRS Repeater, the range of the RT86S GMRS handheld radio can be significantly increased. This kit is therefore ideal when an extended communications coverage area is required.
RT97S GMRS Repeater Key Features:
The RT97S repeater in this kit is equipped with a microphone. It can be used to talk directly to walkie-talkies or car radios. This kit comes with 6 RT86S GMRS long range radios to increase the number of users and enable teamwork.
1. Simple-to-use GMRS repeater Kit
With 8 GMRS repeater channels, and a built-in trap duplexer, all you need to do is add an antenna and feeder and you're ready to broadcast. A USB programming cable is also included to program the repeater to the channel and CTCSS/DCS tones of your choice. 2.
2. Small Portable Repeater
The Retevis RT97S repeater measures only 260x210x70mm, which is very small and compact, easy to carry and perfect for outdoor use, suitable for family, individual and group use. You can also install it on top of a mountain to build your own base station.
3. Multiple Charging Options
RT97S can be powered by DC12V~24V power supply, car power supply or solar battery.RT97S is perfect for solar repeater sites that require low power and small space. The portable size of this repeater makes it ideal for camping trips or emergency preparedness.

The Retevis RT97S repeater comes with an LCD display. The display helps you easily understand TX and RX frequencies, CTCSS/DCS codes and bandwidth settings. There are also up and down keys to help you change channels and CTCSS/DCS tones. You can also lock/unlock the keypad using the keys.

The Retevis RT97S is a portable GMRS radio repeater for use as a repeater for extended GMRS handheld radios. It is a compact unit with an LED to alert you when the channel is busy. It has a built-in duplexer. This allows the unit to transmit and receive on the same antenna at the same time. The Retevis unit has performed flawlessly. Its low current draw on standby is an advantage for a solar-powered repeater. Simple and robust; good build quality. We updated all our radios in the field to use new CTCSS/DCS settings, then switched the repeater to use them too.
For our neighborhood I built up a GMRS repeater. I use the Retevis RT97S and the Retevis RT86S GMRS radios. The repeater works great, but keep in mind after the duplexer the power output of the repeater isn't really 10-watts anymore, some power is lost in the duplexer.
