CharlesGreat productReviewed on May 20,2025Radio arrives pre-loaded with repeaters and GMRS frequencies which is a plus. Programming is easy via the radio itself or the computer application. It even comes with a programming cable for computer programming, which is not listed so don't make the mistake of buying one like I did. The only thing I wish there were more of was the customizability of the radio on the computer programming software. I can do everything on the radio itself that I can do on the programming software. Would recommend this unit for beginner amateur radio users.IsaiahAmazing service on all levels.!!!Reviewed on May 18,2025This gets 4 stars. Great radio. 4 stars because the antenna. They decided to make it a male sma antenna… so you can buy a $15 retevis antenna or a $4 coupler. The sister radio the HD1, has the correct connector. I review radios on YouTube @gmrskurvyJohnRadioReviewed on May 16,2025Works great. Easy to program.JoshuaThis item is very good 10/10!Reviewed on May 14,2025A solid GMRS radio. Doesn't feel all plasticy and cheap like most cheaper radios do. Programming software isn't that bad either. I carry this radio daily now.ChristopherThis item is very good 10/10!Reviewed on May 12,2025I rarely give a product a five-star rating. However, this device deserves it. It's a solidly built radio that delivers what it's designed to do—reliable and unfailing communication. Its simple design delivers crisp, clear audio both in transmit mode and receiving mode. Mind you, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles like some of my GMRS portables have, but when it comes to performance and reliability, this radio beats them hands down.AndrewGreat Radio, Value, and Shipped Early!Reviewed on May 10,2025Radio works well! If you try to update and get a red LED, try different comm ports until it works. It’s a little finicky but it’ll eventually work. After that, the radio has been great! Very rugged and clear audio.ChristianGreat Radio, Value, and Shipped Early!Reviewed on May 08,2025I love this handheld radio, and will be buying more for my family! Easy to see screen, and easy to navigate menu. Sound is very good. I like that it is so resilient, because I have a tendency to drop things!LloydFor the price, the HA1G is a stealReviewed on Apr 04,2025Getting the CPS working is a nightmare. But once programmed it’s a good radio, lasted a while snow clearing season and a landscape season. Will probably be buying more.ChaseWell built!Reviewed on Mar 29,2025I really like this radio, its easy to use and feels very rugged. I really like the menu on this radio, its a tiered format which I like better than scrolling through 50 items in a list. It is also very easy to program via software, This radio came with a programing cable. The antenna is fixed with a set screw under the rubber ring a the base of the antennas just remove the set screw and you can remove / change the antenna if you wish to do so. On the air reports on the audio were " sounds really good" and "don't change anything" The speaker is good and volume level will go way beyond where I am comfortable listening to.The only knock I have with this radio is the squelch tail is a bit loud no matter the volume level, other than that I say this radio is a winnerParkerGood GMRS radioReviewed on Mar 27,2025Because I have not had one before, they are new to me. I understand that they are "similar" to the FRS radios - the little kid walkie talkies that most people have seen kids playing with between houses. They have a very short range whereas the GMRS has UHF (ultra high frequencies) that can work if say, you are out hiking at a national park and want to check in with family back at the campground, plus the GMRS radio can work across "repeater stations" that can broadcast your signal further. Now with all that being said, a GMRS radio that YOU broadcast from does require an FCC license (just sign up, pay the fee of $35) AND the FCC's assigned callsign that, after paying for your 10 year license, you should receive in a few days. I have not yet received mine yet, so all I can to is turn this radio on and play around with it while listening to others. Oh, and one nice thing about GMRS - if YOU have a callsign, pretty much your entire family can use that callsign! Not a bad deal, really. So far I am impressed with the quality build of this radio and once I have my callsign I'll try to come back and update how well others can hear me.
