RB48 can't talk with RB48P directly because they have different CTCSS/DCS settings. You can turn off CTCSS/DCS, and RB48 can talk with RB48P directly. In the standby state of direct call mode, press the [MENU] key twice, adjust the CTCSS/DCS number to "00".

Please don’t worry, this is because the VOX function is turned on. In the standby state of direct call mode, press the MENU key 4 times. VOX will be displayed on the screen, and you can set the VOX level.
