I primarily use the HT's for work on construction sites with large metal objects between blocking line of sight. I also use them with my kids at home when doing yard work and other chores around the property. On the job we are usually within 50 yards of each other but sometimes 100 yards plus depending on the site. Distance clarity and battery life are all considering factors along with ruggedness and IP rating.

We've only had these about a week but so far they are out-performing the previous sets we've had. I needed replacement radios for some rather old ones that we use around the ranch. I had never heard of this particular brand but they ratings, water-resistance, features, and price were very attractive. We have used them for only about a week, so far, but they have met every expectation and then some!! They work GREAT!! DO know that the charge is from a USB cord.

Cell phones have practically replaced "walkie talkies". However, for short range and for areas without cell service these devices are quite useful. For example, surveyors, job sites, construction, builders, on the farm and others will find these devices quite useful for quick and clear communication. The range is long enough for even larger projects. The battery life is adequate, even using high power and if needed, the devices can be charged or used via USB. The sound quality is adequate with communication easily understood. We have a small complex of buildings and these communication devices work well for us.

I bought these for my workplace that is full of dust and water. My guys drop them on concrete daily, they have been dropped in water etc and are still going strong. I will have to say that if dropped in water they tend to sound distorted for a bit until they dry out some but I haven’t had one quit working yet. Seems to be quite durable. They have worked better than any other radio system we have tried so far.

I purchased these for work, as I work in sewer lines and wanted an easier method to communicate with our top side guys besides screaming. Pretty good so far as we used them on various site configurations, the deepest being 30 feet, without losing sound quality or connectivity. The VOX mode is great for in the hole as it leaves the technician able to work with both hands and still have the freedom to communicate.

The seem rugged and the warehouse team is happy with them, and the sound is loud enough to provide clearer sound.

This is a great product for a team to have great communication when cell phone signal is not the best. I have use this several times on different types of jobs. They are rugged and hold up well. I also have use these on family vacations and they work great. The range is amazing and I have even allowed my children to use these around the yard or in the neighborhood so I can keep and communications with them when they are running around the neighborhood sound quality is great. We camp several times a year. Our last camping trip last year my brother and his kids joined us for the first time. One of his kids went to relieve themselves and got turned around. She was only "missing" for 10 minutes, but it freaked my brother out. We have an upcoming weekend planned and they want to join us again. To ease his mind, I bought these walkie talkies to keep that from happening again. Also, my husband and I have been having a blast playing with them around the house. I figured if I was going to get some walkie talkies, then I'd get nice ones. These are heavy duty, shock resistant, and waterproof. They can go up to a range of 5 miles. There is an input jack for headphones. It also has a VOX hands-free operation, vibration alarm, beep, key lock, and a high and low power switch. A few more cool things is that it has an FM radio, can get 10 weather channel bands, and weather alerts. The SOS alarm has one-button activation, allowing you to choose between a local alarm and a transmitted alarm. The dual watch mode allows you to scan 2 channels at one time. Though it has features we technically didn't need, they were extras we thought would be worth having.

These work well, even at a longer range. To test them out my son took one to the corner (about 5 houses down) and it was still clear. Also has an option for the weather report channel.
