What a nice little kit! Easy to program with CHIRP over all build quality is good. This is all you need to get you on the air mobile in one afternoon. I have been a ham for 30 years and this is a good set for both beginner and for a seasoned guy like me. Especially nice that it is small and will fit well in todays smaller cars

Great little radio for the price. Has great range with very clear sound. I use it as a base station for both GMRS and VHF. I used it during the Kentucky tornadoes. Worked fantastically. I'd recommend for beginners and for anyone looking for a working transceiver at a reasonable price. Scanning could be quicker. Minor programming issues, but nothing that makes it a deal breaker. Works just as well as the more expensive brands, but for a lot less.

Great dual-band (UHF/VHF) mobile radio for the price point. I got two of them, one for a base-station and one for my truck because I was so impressed that they work so well. Outputs a solid 20W. Easy to program with CHIRP (or face-programming). Easily unlocked to access GMRS and MURS if you're into that. Very close in functionality to my Icom 2730A for a fraction of the price.

I give the RT95 and antenna clip in this combo a thumbs up! I purchased a mobile radio for a delivery truck on a dairy farm. The RT95 is easy to install and has a clear screen. It's small, but compact and easy to read. I have to say this is a great little radio. At this size, power and price, it's hard to find anything comparable. The user interface issues are easy to fix, just like any other radio, and once you know how to use it properly it's not a big deal.

I did my research. When looking for a simple dual band radio for my truck I chose the retevis rt95. My truck has an all aluminum body so my magnetic mounted antenna won't work. I chose the MA07 Stainless Steel Antenna. I was nervous about drilling holes in the truck for installation. It took me some time to find out that it's quite simple. I will say that I am very impressed with the performance of this combination. I live in a rural environment and my repeater has never been completely silent. I highly recommend this combo to anyone.
My only quirk is programming. Simple solution. Be sure to read the radio first, save the file, add frequencies etc, write to the radio and then save the file again. I have created a file while waiting for the radio to arrive. Followed my advice above and it worked great. retevis software is easy to use. highly recommended.
