great radios, I run a canine police unit and I need to be able to have long-distance communications with my trainers. These radios work well, have several nice features like weather, emergency call, multiple channels. Very powerful and clear sounding, The range is good even in hilly NH with heavy forest cover.

We live in a very congested area with lots of traffic lights and other interference, plus it is currently snowing hard, and my husband drove across town and the last transmission we picked up was 2.2 miles away; there was static but we could still hear what each other was saying. I think that is pretty impressive for this area. I can imagine in open terrain that the signal would go much further. They are well-built, solid, and very easy to operate. I like that they can also be clipped onto clothing and such.
