RT3S is a well built radio, perfect size and weight. Feels more solid than the radio this replaced. Has both analog and digital/DMR capabilities which I use extensively. Took a while to set the RT3S up and troubleshoot the bands, I didn't know I had to push and hold the 2 side buttons to access (unlock) the US amateur frequencies. Once I figured that out (a lot of google searching) every channel analog and digital has worked perfectly. The programming software is easy to use. I took the RT3S for a road trip recently and it picked up all the repeaters enroute, I'm very impressed with this unit. Thank you Retevis for the excellent product, communication and service.
I received the RT3S with GPS and it was very well packaged. I purchased this specifically to work with FM radio satellites. I am pleased with its performance. I included a note on my website about my new use of this radio. I will think of retevis when I have future radio needs to purchase.
The web pages show the radio operating in the amateur radio bands. I am a canadian amateur radio operator (ve3ppe). Instead, the radio seems to only allow the "general spec" of 150-160 MHz and 450-460 MHz programming--completely outside of my bands. Thus, I realize that the radio, as shipped, is useless to me. Another, earlier gps-rt3s I own with the same hardware rev (v03.0) is programmable over a useful range. Then I contacted support, and Grace told me the steps to expand the frequency band. (Press the two side buttons to turn on the radio, and it can be used normally after spreading the frequency band.) Her advice was precisely what I needed. Now, I can use the radio exactly as I had intended. Very good service and radio!
I purchased a Retevis RT3S which I am enjoying a lot and its working well. Do you sell a leather case for the RT3S? Also, does this Battery Eliminator for the RT3 also work on the RT3S?
I was having trouble with the usb driver, I finally found a link and downloaded the correct driver, all is good, I really do appreciate your help and assistance with the radio. Very satisfied and passing on kudos to ham club and members.
Very good product! Great quality!
