Excelente.!

I have tried this and compared it to Midland and several other brands. I like the fact it is IP67 rated meaning it can be submerged in a couple of feet of water for up to an hour without worry about water ingress. Haven't tried it yet but expect this will be a very desirable feature to have when camping or recreating. Also it has the ability to swap out discharged batteries if needed. It comes with lots of open channels for custom programming. Seems to go head to head with other radios in the 5w power class. The one thing I dislike so far is the colors of the display, at least the dark blue is hard to read the lettering. A nice power saving feature (optional) is the ability to turn off the backlight during standby. The display comes back to life when transmitting, receiving, or changing a channel. After the preset time has elapsed the display then goes dark again saving battery life.

Great radios for the price. We are pretty impressed so far and would buy again. Battery life seems good, we do not live near big city and considered rural but reception is decent. With some different attenas we believe we could get better reception. We have looked at YouTube videos saying the same thing.

This is a very solid feeling radio. Buttons and encoder do not feel cheap. Display is excellent. If you update the firmware the display improves dramatically. If you program using the CPS it makes it easy to create multiple channels and zones. The only things I don’t like about this radio so far are the scanning and the receive display.Scanning: I thought I would be able to just create a scan list and scan it, but each channel can only be assigned to one list, and the channels scanned are determined by which channel you start scanning on. Kind of strange and confusing. This needs to be reworked. Also the display stays on while scanning regardless of the setting which drains the battery. Even if I just set it to monitor the two channels with no scanning. It will awake the display when any signal is detected regardless of pl tones. The display should only awake when the unit passes audio to conserve battery.Receive display: I’m not sure how the old firmware treated the receive display but on my radio when a transmission is received it only shows the frequency with no way to display the channel or name. This leave you guessing what you are listening to while scanning. This should be an easy firmware fix.Update: A few more nitpicks and suggestions. The radio wants to tip backwards when sitting on a table or flat surface. There are some tiny supports on the bottom but they need to either be wider or slightly longer to balance properly. The CPS does not allow rearranging/cutting/pasting channels. Once you make a list you can not rearrange it. This is kind of silly considering the flexibility of free software such as chirp.Would be cool if this would feature the Noise Reduction that is available on the NR30/NR30S.Would like to see a battery delete kit offered by Retevis for extended base station use.Considering the ability to transmit DTMF tones, it would be cool to see a Morse Code ID feature. If this radio had 10w capability like the Tidradio H8/NR30/Boofwang AR, it would be the best GMRS radio on the market.

Great product highly recommended

I have been a customer of Retevis for a few years now, and every time I order something from them the service gets better and better and so does their equipments quality. This is my fourth HA1G. It wasn't supposed to be here until the 10th of December and it showed today Nov. 29th. With a free programming cable. If you want quality and professional service I recommend going to Retevis.

Good as expected

Great product! Employees thought they worked very well!

The battery life on this radio is good and the range is good and can go about 8 miles. It is very easy to program with the menu options. You get what you paid for the product is very sturdy and durable. The communication is great on this radio. It is also very functional, your value for your money is great. I had this radio for about 2 months and it is still going strong. I would highly recommend this item. 10/10

Use this walkie talkies for work for communication from one to another they work great we have no problems.good material and good value for the money.

Good deal. Good product

I ordered this radio during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale period because of positive reviews I watched on YouTube. The radio showed up a couple of days earlier than promised and everything was packed well and no damage at all.Setup and programming was simple, using the Retevis CPS software, I even updated the Firmware without problems.Great little radio, built like a tank and sounds great. I also like the water resistance in case I happen to drop it in a creek or lake I won't have to worry about damaging the radio.Great lifetime on the battery, I monitor it daily and it's been days since I fully charged it and I still have "full bars" on the battery display.

This is an excellent radio. I really like most things about it.It is a tough, durable, waterproof radio that recharges with USBC.Probably the feature that I most appreciate about it is the signal meter. It uses a meter that goes from 0 to 100. When I am trying to hit a particular repeater that is far away, sometimes my radios signal won't get through. But I can often times move around 10 or 20 feet while listening to others talk, and find the place where the signal is strongest. If I can receive a signal that hits better than 40%, then I can hit the repeater without any scratchiness or static from that exact spot. This is something that I can't do with any of my other radios, because they don't have signal meters that are graduated as fine.I feel like it's a little too easy to accidentally hit the push to talk button and key up.I wasn't initially a fan of the color screen, but it can be adjusted so that it's bright enough to read in daylight. It's pretty good! The battery lasts a pretty long time.

Most cheap radios feel and look like toys, this ha1g feels and looks solid and rugged, like a radio you would see at a job site. Not quite a Motorola or Kenwood, but it feels fantastically heavy duty and feels like I expect a radio to feel that's 4-5x this price. Even though it's waterproof, the speaker sounds louder and clearer than any other radio I have. Receiver sensitivity sems very good and audio quality both ways is excellent. Comes programmed out of the box ready to use on GMRS. Mine came with the latest update firmware already. P.S. in an *emergency* you can lock the keypad and hit 123456 and it will then allow transmission on the HAM bands. Mine came with a programming cable also. For the money this is an unbelievable value.

Got the radio fast. Set up was easy enough and ready to go. Build quality is really good. My radio came with the programming cable even though I could find nowhere in the discription that say it's included. Great deal there. One problem I have and my return because of is the sticker with the product name was missing along with a back sticker looking like a bad application and also I haven't seen any videos I'm going to boxing yet but the screen didn't have a peel on it. I don't know if it was supposed to come on or not. The box was sealed and nothing other than the missing sticker really makes it look like it was used but I'm wondering if it's bad quality control or someone actually went through the effort of sealing it in plastic and returning it. I only concern with the missing sticker is it looks like it might have exposed the microphone which I mean it's not waterproof. So I think I'm going to contact seller and maybe get a replacement sticker or just return the radio or get a replacement radio. All the reviews I've read a very positive about the radio and aside from my little issues it's a great little radio it feels very rugged doesn't feel like a $40 radio it feels like a several hundred dollar radio. What it's worth I would recommend it.Update : I was contacted by the seller and they expressed concern and wanted to make it right. Shipped me out a new one and send the old one back. Thank you.

Love this radio for gmrs and even ham with the unlock code. The programing software is not the best but it does work.

Update 25 Jan 2025:The codeplug files are XML-ish and editable by any text editor. The first channels that are not editable in the CPS can be modified in the text file. This allows you to change the label, frequency and settings as you would for any of the unlocked channels. This includes being able to set VHF frequencies. This is actually a dual-band radio, with one caveat: To transmit outside of the GMRS band one needs to lock the radio, then enter 123456, and then unlock the radio. This must be done each time the radio is powered cycled. The upside to this is that you can stuff in your ham channels but still are able to hand the radio to a non-ham for use on GMRS and they won't accidently start talking on the local 2m repeater.Through some Retevis magic slot-machine I was able to get this radio for under $25USD, I wasn't able to repeat that but after receiving the radio and playing with it I was able to get another for under $30USD.Anyway, to the HA1G: It's very well constructed with a look and feel of the Motorola XPR 7550 series HTs. Of course it's not a commercial $800 radio with GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi and the solid front-end of a Motorola, but in the hand it feels the same, which is totally amazing at it's price. Nor is it a $3000 APX 4000 that does Tier II P25, but again, the hand feel is there. So, what does it have for it's low price?o Honest FCC certified GMRS HT with decently clean harmonics.o Very solid IP67 housingo Large color display with clear graphicso Clean audioo USB chargingo Front panel programming in the GMRS bando Name channels from the front panelo Workarounds that allow it to be used on both 2m/70cm ham bands (change the antenna for 2m)Things that could be improved:o The programming software is kind of a klugeo Long tail even using PL/DPL squelch*o The IP67 hand mic costs as much as the radioBut for what it's designed to do, which is a pure GMRS handheld, it's the best in class for anything that doesn't cost hundreds more. This is the radio that you would want at a job site where it would take abuse. Even if you somehow find a way to destroy it, you still won't cry because it's costs less than you're going to pay for beers after work.I'm a ham and ex-broadcast engineer with an addiction to buying used Motorola commercial and public safety radios, and this little unit impressed me. I'm betting that one could pound a roofing nail into plywood with this. Retrevis/Ailunce hit a homerun with the HA1G.*Edit: Upgrading the firmware to the latest version seems to have fixed the squelch tail issue.

I purchased sense I'm new to gmrs it's a great radio has great reception and good battery life. It's very easy to program and setup has great range on the unit only thing mine was missing the lapel mike which is ok I just ordered one.

After the firmware update, this radio is a Beast, the best cheap analog dual band, IP67 rugged beast on the market, also the oem mike rocks. Would love to colaborate with retevis to test products.

I'm just gonna say that what I paid for this radio when it was on sale before Christmas, well I almost feel like I stole something. It without a doubt is the best GMRS HT on the market. Very well built and solid radios. To many features to list that a person wouldn't expect from a radio at this price. Easy to use heavy duty channel knob on top instead of a flash light that's one way a person can tell if a radio is pretty good is if it does not have a flashlight on the top. Will buy more I wont even wait for a sale again. The radios are so good I wouldn't hesitate buying another if the price went up to around $80.

This HA1G GMR is a phenomenal radio for the price point!

This HA1G is one awesome radio!! The color screen is easy to read and programming right from the handset is easier than most other radios! If you prefer to use the computer for programming, There is a software for that! I found this radio to be easily setup and quick to put into action. The build quality of this radio is wonderful. It feels very robust in your hands. Feels like a much more pricey radio as those in the top tier. The green PTT button is a nice touch and adds to the radios character. I highly recommend this radio. It is waterproof being ready for all the outdoor elements you might run into. Battery life is also very good even when keeping the backscreen lit up at all times this radio just stays powered on! I've added this radio to the top of my list carrying it every day and its been doing great!!

EDIT: I received a replacement radio that took care of the QC issues. Very prompt and polite customer service!Given the glut of GMRS radios from several manufacturers, it’s a challenge to pick one. This unit is bigger than many of the compact models I own, which means it’s got nice heft for bigger hands. You can change channels with the knob on top OR the arrows on the keypad (typical).Features are on par for other budget radios, and it’s usb-c charging.Minor annoyance: the scan function. They only allow 16 channels to be scanned. Which is obviously fewer than a GMRS has. Strange indeed.

Radi0 offers excellent quality—clear audio, solid build, and reliable performance. Highly recommended for its price!

Radio is built like a brick and has good audio on RX and TX. RX signal might be a little less than my other radios but still in the process of testing against the other radios. I don't care much about only having scan lists of 16 channels each and only having "zones" or banks of 16 channels each. Also the current firmware allows you to open up the frequency range to access ham/gmrs/frs/murs but you must go through a procedure every time you power up the radio to unlock the transmit for the frequencies that you program into the radio like ham or murs. It's easy to do but it should be made to be a persistent unlock that stays unlocked on power cycles. Maybe new firmware can fix some of these issues or at least make them optional for the end user. The battery lasts a long time. Took a while to go through the process of charge/discharge for the first 3 cycles to help maximize the battery life. Power output seems stable and consistent in the frequencies I use, ham/gmrs/frs/murs.The display is very nice and I like the options to increase/decrease the brightness and length of time the display is illuminated. The antenna is very rigid and it fits very snug on the connector and seals against the body as expected to maintain the waterproof seal. I have not tested how waterproof it is and don't plan on doing it intentionally. If it gets wet or dunked and stops working I will edit this review to reflect on the results. Also the antenna stub is quite a bit taller than other radios and if you want to use different antennas you might have to get some type of rubber gasket to fill the gap between the radio body and the antenna base. Range seems to be pretty much the same as any other 5w radio and the audio quality is excellent and makes communication clear and enjoyable compared to other radios in the same price range. All said it is a very nice radio with nice features and capabilities but it could be much better with possible firmware upgrades and options. The value of the radio is probably a bit higher than the current price of $35-$40 but as I stated it would be even more with firmware upgrades and better options. If I find anything else worth mentioning I will update this review.Update: Since the release of the HA1UV I have downloaded the firmware for the HA1UV and installed it on the HA1G. I like the firmware better and I don't have to put any codes or key presses to unlock the ham bands and others. The only issue I have seen so far is that the H/M/L power settings only seem to work on the UHF bands, while the VHF bands only work on H/L and no output from the Mid setting. But I always run full blast so no problem for me. YMMV

I love everything about this product!!! Its a great way to keep in touch with my friends family and sibilings and in an emergencies too this product will get the job done!!! Thanks retevis keep inventing youre new products I just love them to death!!! Kurt.Thienes.

Able to listen for more than three days on a single charge.

Works well for a basic set and forget handset. I also find GMRS works very well point to point outdoors where I’m at. This helps grant simply setup comms. It is clear and talks to other GMRS radios well, has very solid range and battery life

They are easy to use, have a good, sensitive receiver and transmit clear audio.

I bought this for the programming cable to program a retevis radio. I figured for a few more dollars for a cable alone I could get another radio to play with. This thing is awesome. I like the fact it uses a sma male antenna. Loud speaker and clear sounding especially when you consider the it has a good water resistance rating. Not chirp compatible but used the free software from the company with no issue. Liked it so much I ordered a second one already.

Great radio !

Got to like it, but you can't use weather alerts and the radio at the same time.Update: Now you can!

Great value so far. Had some issues (seem to have been my own learning curve problems) and their support was super responsive (although some language issues from China). Good experience overall. Worked great for the intended road trip.

Works great in large buildings and warehouses, across fairgrounds, in thick woods and deep mountain valleys.

If you’re looking for super easy to use radios look no further! These units are awesome , very convenient and have an amazing price tag for them!

We use these radios in our shop

I think it’s cool looking radio. I like the fact that it comes with a built-in belt clip.

The HA1G is pretty well thought out and executed radio. I primarily use for GMRS monitoring / transmission. Audio is clear and crisp, although there’s a bit of tail squelch which can be annoying. I’ve yet to find a way to reduce it. Dating 4 starts because of this. The handheld is easy to use, feels comfortable in the hand, and is clearly well built and durable. I’ve tested out the water proofing by dropping it in a puddle (accidentally) and the radio was just fine. The mic that comes with this package doesn’t feel as high quality, but the audio sounds alright and it works reliably (used it for 3 trips so far and it’s held up). Overall, the HA1G is a great radio for those getting into GMRS handhelds. The price isn’t bad for the quality of the unit. I wish they developed the tuning software to include Mac OS. As of now it only works on windows.

These are quality radios. I live on an island and we are using these to set up an emergency communications network in case of natural or manmade disaster. Our radio club did extensive testing on multiple brands and models of GSRM. This radio ticked most of the boxes for function and quality. Especially given the price.

Great performance, clear sound, and easy to use. Highly recommend

So far I have nothing bad to say about this HA1G radio. As I am still new the GMRS world, this has been a great little handheld model to learn with. So far, it been very capable of any of the programming that I have done with it either by a manual input or the programming from a laptop. It has a very good transmitting range for the transmission amps that it has, a good balance of power to battery use/longevity.The battery is great, I like the fact that you can charge the battery either in the cradle or if your out and about and to charge the battery directly, I having options like this so that you can charge and continue your use.The instructional booklet that it comes with is very decent and has easy to follow set up instructions along with pictorial guides. The only drawback that I have found is the programming software that is used, this has been/was a little bit of a challenge to use. I was able to search for and find some related how to videos that assisted me in the firmware update and programming.I liked this radio so much, I purchased a second one for my family use for out outings. I would like to Retevis add an option to purchase a 2nd battery in a deal pack in the purchase. It would be a great to have two when out hiking or long deployments.

Good quality. Good reception. Ease of use. Perfect color!

Great product so far.

Great radio..Top notch commutation

Great radios for use in our UTVs. Paid for themselves on the first trip. Crystal clear transmission and reception.

Great communication device for the family! Would buy again!

This is my new every day carry radio. At first I was going to swap out the antenna. Then I heard repeaters further away from me, so I’m keeping the stock antenna on. The main reason I love this radio is how easy it is to program (I posted a video). This radio is extremely well built. The one con is the retevis software, you can’t name repeaters with it. As of now, Chirp doesn’t support this radio. I’m sure they will in the future. Battery life has been really good so far. Audio is outstanding! I do wish you can change the theme on it. The blue with black font isn’t easy on my old eyes. It I’m still very happy with it.

Works very good but stock antenna shows higher than wanted SWR 2.38:1. Nagoya 771 had 1.12:1. Power showing 5.04W on most channels on the high setting. Great features and all are programmable thru menu so don't really need the CPS software to use it.

I'm running several retevis radios and they are excellent radios especially for the cost and they are super easy to program

Met my expectation's. Great radio for the money. Pretty easy to program.

Very nice GMRS Radio, it feels good in the hand and programming was easy.

Very sturdy and easy to program! I have the Ham version and it’s basically the same. But with a few button pushes you can open it up to GMRS and MURS for about the same price!

Very happy with this radio

I have several GMRS handheld radios by several brands and this one by far has to be my favorite. The menu is very straightforward and it does come with a programming cable if you want to add custom channels. I have had to downgrade my original 5 star rating. I have discovered the DTMF keypad does not work when you want to use it when pushing the putt and even though there is an option to use reverse burst to eliminate squelch tail it does not work. I also had to replace the charging plug with another one as the factory one died quickly.

I'm running several retevis radios and they are excellent radios especially for the cost and they are super easy to program

This Walkie Talkie has the best GMRS long range among my WT collection, and it works quite well with my other GMRS units. East setup and clear sound quality. Speaker microphone is very convenient to use too. Highly recommended.

Very sturdy and easy to program! I have the Ham version and it’s basically the same. But with a few button pushes you can open it up to GMRS and MURS for about the same price!

I enjoy this product I used it for listening to my area fire EMS and law frequencies at the moment and I do love the fact that I can listen to the local fm radio stations as well but my chest mic got tangled up and now is acting like it's on the edge of going out the battery life is amazing on this radio and the durability for a radio like this is great I've dropped it a couple of times and still going

The range is about average. The radio itself is good quality. Great sound. I have a few gmrs radios and this is one of the nicest. I got my gmrs liscense a few months ago. It's really easy to do. You Tube is a wealth of knowledge on the topic. If your thinking about getting a gmrs license then this is a good radio to start with. Gmrs is a good place to start before you move up to a ham liscense. Don't. Make the mistake of using you home address on your liscense for the fcc get a PO Box.

Purchased after a recommendation from a co worker (search and rescue). I am shocked to the durability of the radio. The audio from the speaker is quite loud. It has a lot of features that I can use. It is affordable and battery life is great for long runs. Have tested it in urban area and it is not disappointing, clearest signal of multiple radios I have used. My main radio.

These radios make communication easy when talking to more than 1 person. They are much easier than a cell phone. The range is awesome. You can charge these with the included charger or they can use the same usb-c that most cell phones use..the battery life lasts for more than 8 hours. These are a great option to communicate so everyone in your group that has one can hear everything that anyone in the group is saying in real time.

These are quality radios. I live on an island and we are using these to set up an emergency communications network in case of natural or manmade disaster. Our radio club did extensive testing on multiple brands and models of GSRM. This radio ticked most of the boxes for function and quality. Especially given the price.

The HA1G is robust and durable, making it suitable for rugged outdoor use. Its ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip, and the buttons are well-placed for easy operation, even with gloves on.

Found radio just what I was looking for, real easy to program on the radio without a computer.

I like the fact it uses a sma male antenna. Loud speaker and clear sounding especially when you consider the it has a good water resistance rating. Not chirp compatible but used the free software from the company with no issue. Liked it so much I ordered a second one already.

These are high quality radios. Full of options and easy to program. Much better than walkie-takies or FSR units. Great for hiking or hunting or skiing.

Color: BlackAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) First of all, this radio came with everything you need. External microphone, charger, belt clip, charging stand to put the radio in when not in use, and even a USB programming cable that will let you connect it to your computer. It's quite small and lightweight, so you won't even feel it on your belt. It not only allows you to use the standard GMRS frequencies between 462 MHz and 467 MHz for transmit and receive, but you can also listen to your favorite FM radio station, or get weather information from the NOAA broadcast stations. It is a feature packed radio in a very small but functional size. If this is something you want to get into, this is a great package to start with. FYI - You need an FCC license to use these legally. To operate on GMRS channels, individuals need to obtain a GMRS license from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The license covers the licensee and their immediate family members, and it is valid for ten years. No exam is required to obtain a GMRS license, but there is a $35.00 fee associated with the application. Don't let that FCC license requirement stop you. It breaks down to just $3.50 / year for everyone in your family. It is all done online and it's super easy!

Works flawlessly and does everything I need it to do.

Rv life

great radios, love it. works with pretty long range and have a lot of secure channels with is definitely a plus. Sound clear and really comfortable.

clear. It would be nice if it was compatible with AAA batteries.

Able to reach to all areas of my 133 wooded acres

We use these radios to speak to each other from our house to our barn. They work great and the battery time is great.

Needed radios for a car club trip. These worked well and were clear.

No complaints that I can think of.

The UI is great, simple to operate, comes pre programmed with NOAA stations, FM radio. And you can program tons of other frequencies to listen to.

For how small it has a lot of power and good range. Work great for Jeeps

Fearless of wind, rain and mud

This is a great set for anyone who loves exploring the outdoors. You an a partner can be searching the ground looking for an artifact, arrow head, or a lost phone and stay in contact with this powerful and easy to use set. Workers can stay in touch using them while working on different areas of a project. They are wonderful for camping or staying in contact with that special guy out in the back forty while you are in the house

get the software and do the firmware update. the Squelch tail sucks, but with the update I was able to turn it off. Great radio.

I'm buying another set for my Dad that lives next door so we can communicate easier when he's out on the property.

It's a great two way radio easy to program I used YouTube to learn to program it I did all the programming with the keypad so you really don't need the programming cable also it came with a programming cable so no need to make my mistake and order an additional programming cable, but anyway it's a great radio it has great loud and clear audio, also the black light won't turn off in scan mode but it will while on a single channel but it's a great radio better than the baofeng BH-F6 that I had previously bought.

Exactly as described

I like the product

I purchased these radios when my wife got stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She needs space, so I’m in the other room until she needs me. These walker talkies have no squelch and the quality is AWESOME. With the beep off, it’s scary how real the voice is that comes across without feedback!… Hands down “best radios I’ve used!”

These walkies are performing better than expected, and they work with the existing set already have.

a better powered highly portable radio. Looks to me like in order to get more out of a radio, you really start to sacrifice portability and usability, with many requiring programming.

These radios are easy to use, small, & lightweight. We used them in the mountains of Moab, Utah and they worked flawlessly. We separated across 2 mountain ridges and we could hear and be heard very crisply and clearly. I am very hard of hearing and radio messages are very hard for me to pick out. These radios transmit and receive very nicely. I heard every conversation perfectly and the batteries lasted all day (still going from sun up to sun down in June). All of the 4x4 drivers with us are so impressed, they have already ordered their own.

The radios work great as they should even in hilly areas for hunting.

The volume is excellent, with a knob control on top instead of a button which could be accidentally hit. They come with ear phone and microphone with a clip you can attach to clothing which is very handy so you don't have to dig out the radio from a pocket. The weather station is a nice plus that actually works. The buttons are flush so as to make it less likely that they are pushed by accident in a pocket.

I had received a defective product and the customer service at Ailunce was prompt and very helpful. They had a replacement sent out next day. To me they are a stand up company that stands by there products. My thought's on the Hag-1 I was looking for a radio that was water proof, dual channel monitoring, has a Roger beep, but yet simple to use and after trying out a few brands I have found a radio worth owning.

For this price, I didn’t expect much, but wow—it’s way better than I thought! Totally worth it.

Super fast shipping! Ordered it on Monday and got it by Wednesday. Impressed!

The value for money is insane. Can’t believe how good this is for the price!
