The clarity of the speaker was good over the approximately 500-yard range we tested, from indoors to outdoors. The charging base includes two USB-A charging connections and can charge the radios with a USB-A-to-C cable, though the cable is not included. Additionally, the battery packs can be charged independently from the radio units. When plugged into USB-C without the battery pack, the radio is semi-functional; it can receive but won't transmit, as the PTT button beeps and resets the radio. The analog volume control offers a wide range, from soft to loud, with or without the ear piece. The soft range is fairly narrow and difficult to adjust in small increments, but the speaker volume is sufficient for loud environments when turned up. The flashlight is a convenient featureThis radio comes with advanced features, many of which are referenced with acronyms in the user manual. Novice users may need to look up additional information elsewhere, as the manual provides just enough detail for experienced users to understand and utilize these features. Overall, this radio presents a solid, professional option.

I have had Retevis radios before and I have to say that I have always been impressed with them. I had high expectations for these, and so far, they have lived up to my expectations. The charging base is very easy to use and convenient.

The hidden display tells you everything you need to know and will keep on doing it for the life of the radio without the display becoming scratched and blurred. The one touch on off for tone and digital squelch allows you to instantly communicate with other FRS and GMRS radios thay may not share your coding plan. USB charging is a necessity these days allowing you to charge your unit when in the field or away from home base. The easy pairing should be particularly handy in larger groups. And, here in tornado country, the automatic weather alert could save lives.Retevis provides CPS style programming sofware for download at no charge if you want to change the factory settings. You will need to provide your own programming cable. If your needs fit within the parameters of GMRS licensing this is an affordable, business style radio that performs more than adequately for most applications.

On the bench the radio produced 2.8 watts into a 50 ohm load and a whopping 3.8 into the provided antenna. The transmitter output was pristine, showing no detectable harmonics. While other GMRS radios have higher power output this level is fine for most local communications and for that matter most local repeaters. The received audio was clear and while we did not test it the radio performed similarly to other radios with receiver sensitivity greater than -120 db.This radio shines in a few areas that are really well thought out.

It is hard to say too much about most FRS and GMRS radios. They are designed to operate on channels and power levels defined by FCC regulation and they all do pretty well the same thing. You push the PTT button and they transmit. You release it and they receieve. Some do these things a lot better than others and Retevis as a company has an excellent reputation for solid performing radios. This one is no exception.

This radio is designed for the burgeoning US GMRS market. It should be a hit there due to its robust feature package and attractive price. The radio is solidly built and offered at a price level that allows organizations and groups on a budget to afford the equally well built multi unit charger.

The hidden LED display is a nice touch, making them sleek and easy to use at night. The 2000mAh battery lasts all day, and the 6-way charger keeps everything organized. The included earpieces provide hands-free convenience, making these great for warehouses, hospitality, and team coordination. Repeater capability extends the range even further.

Ability to receive NOAA weather channels. This set of push to talk radios are good to have for camping, for outdoor hiking when there is no cell phone coverage and other similar situations. I do recommend it.

As far as push to talk radios go, this set is pretty solid in terms of functionality and range.- Comes with a flash light for use in areas that may need illumination.- Battery life is decent and can be charged via a ubiquitous USB-C port.- The price per unit comes out to be a number that is on the lower end of the spectrum, making this an affordable set.

the Retevis RB26H Walkie Talkies offer a comprehensive solution for professional communication needs. With features like long-range connectivity, a robust 2000mAh battery, USB-C charging, hidden display, and earpiece compatibility, these devices are a smart investment for any organization requiring efficient, clear, and reliable communication tools. The build quality, combined with the practical design, makes this set a must-have for anyone looking to enhance their team’s communication capabilities.

The RB26H also features a durable, ergonomic design that fits comfortably in the hand, even with extended use. The robust build quality ensures that these radios can withstand the rigors of daily use in busy, high-impact environments. The long-range capability of these GMRS radios is impressive, providing consistent connectivity across wide areas, which is crucial for effective coordination in large facilities or outdoor settings.

The built-in flashlight is another practical addition, providing a reliable light source in low-visibility conditions, making these radios especially useful for night shifts or outdoor use.

The USB-C charging capability adds another layer of convenience, offering faster, more reliable charging. The inclusion of a hidden display is a smart design choice, protecting the screen from scratches while providing necessary information at a glance, such as battery life and channel selection.

With a GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) configuration, these devices offer extended coverage, providing clear communication over long distances even in challenging settings. One of the standout features of the RB26H is its 2000mAh rechargeable battery. This high-capacity battery ensures prolonged use, allowing the radios to operate efficiently throughout an entire shift without frequent recharging.

The Retevis RB26H Walkie Talkies are a top-notch choice for those seeking reliable, long-range communication in demanding environments.

This is a solid no frills radio that performs well. The administrative issues will not be a problem for people who are not dealing with large numbers of radios and the need to coordinate multiple groups or agencies.

NOAA weather reception was readable. We live in an area with fairly strong NOAA reception on most radios. In field testing the radio had a full quieting range of at least half a mile and strong perfectly usuable signal at nearly a mile in densely populated suburban terrain with one unit outdoors and the other inside a structure.

Recieved audio quality is good.On the bench the transmitter produced 2.6 watts into a 50 ohm non reactive load. We measured 4.3 watts into the supplied removable antenna at a 3.7 swr. The radio performed better with an aftermarket antenna which produced a near perfect swr. There were no measurable transmitter harmonics.

This is a solidly built, highly functional GMRS (and FRS) radio. It is a good size and is comfortable in the hand.
