Secure communications are an essential requirement, especially for public safety applications, RT81 is equipped with 10-bit key data encryption, walkie talkie prevents eavesdropping and avoids interference to ensure secure communication.
Built-in 2200 mAh battery, an operating time of 15 hours in analog mode and 25 hours in digital mode, and is suitable for daily use.
Security personnel typically work in a busy, noisy environment. The sound quality of the walkie-talkie is especially important. Due to the built-in high quality speakers, the DMR walkie-talkie provides better noise cancellation. In a noisy environment, it is possible to communicate with others in better quality.
In the security process, it often happens that the walkie-talkie falls down by running. Therefore, there are certain requirements for the fall resistance of the walkie talkie. A robust shell with stronger protection against falls and earthquakes is more durable.
High power has a longer call range. Low power has a longer battery life. The selection between high and low power can be used flexibly, allowing you to choose the appropriate power in different situations.
For security, it is necessary to communicate. The walkie-talkie supports individual and group call with ID, by setting the frequency, time slot, etc. to meet complex communication requirements.
Since the walkie talkie is compatible with both analog and digital modes. It not only retains the analog radio function, but also has the advantages of digital radio, such as better radio performance and longer battery life, higher energy efficiency, and in the meantime reduces the cost of equipment replacement.
The walkie talkie has three modes: simplex, repeater, and simplex dual time slot. In simplex mode, the walkie talkie communicates in different time slots, which improves communication efficiency. In Repeater mode, the walkie talkie increases the communication distance. Dual Time Slot expands the channel capacity and extends the communication distance.
DMR technology offers six benefits, including doubling the capacity of existing licensed channels, backward compatibility with legacy systems, longer battery life, and increased energy efficiency that improves working efficiency, extends walkie talkie life, and reduces equipment replacement costs.

We purchased Retevis RT81 Radios for our production needs. Working in difficult construction conditions, in closed spaces and with the presence of obstacles, Retevis radios showed their best side, providing reliable communication. Thanks to the company for a quality product!
Awesome product
great video. Very interesting.
I have a Retevis RT50, it's the same, but with a 200 channel encoder and digits. channel indication. For myself, I see one significant minus - you can find out the charge level only in the mode with voice acting. That is, if there is a radio mode without voice acting, then you will not recognize the charge. Thank you for the video.

As always a good radio, Thanks!!!!
IP67 WATERPROOF radio is very good
dmr radio have better sound quality
Use RT81P's digital encryption to make calls more secure, we are an information technology company, this is very good for us
up to 5mi, so long range radio
10W High power,long range radio
Only a small problem. Old Cable and old software with her work, and therefore the old file frequencies in it is filled with, it's good
Awesome product, great radio
Great radios, standard dmr radios. Excellent technical support.
radios are good we use in Farm, we now have 6 radios and they work great on our 10 acre prorerty.
We used these radios while on trail work teams. So far they have reliably worked at 3+ miles in the mountains and 5+ miles in flat areas.
good radio and good sound quality,my parents use them in home, they are very good
ip67 waterproof, you can carry the radio in water 30mins
RT81P Radio is great in battery life and long range.
RT81P Radio is great in battery life and long range.
DMR RADIO and 10w high radio, i test, 8W, BUT THE difference is small, so the great radio
ip67 watetrproof, very good, it's great radio
10W high power, long distance radio
radios are good we use in auto salvage yard, we now have 6 radios and they work great on our 10 acre prorerty.
Range was six miles. high power radio, long range, Haven't used them in a building yet.

These are amazing! Used at the lake and one person was at the cabin on top of a huge hill a mile long, and one was in the middle of the lake and they have good clear
I tried several different radios including the GMRS type. Just never could get any good range. Don't know how they can advertise a 30 or 40-mile range when everybody knows it ain't true! Decided on these radios and after testing I am very happy. I bought and used the long 18" antennas in order to increase the range and to conduct the range test. Ultimately I could get very good reception range of 3.5 miles with the power setting on 10 watts. This test was conducted across town with one radio stationary and located in a neighborhood that is about 50' below the level of the other radio. Basically one of the radios was in a deep hole which would kill the range of most radios. At 3.5 miles I was really shocked that I still had a good solid connection. I would have been happy with a range of 1.5 miles. The range did suffer some when transmitting from inside a vehicle. But even then I got over 1 mile.
Was not able to get the software or drivers to run on Windows 10. Without being able to program these they are useless on my jobsites.but the RETEVIs RT81P is the great radio ,i think the good function is the ip67 waterproof function ,because i usually go to the outdoor, and challenge the water adventure activities.
I am impressed by the power these radios have. I used the in a 20 story building and the reception was crystal clear. I had one battery that was not holding a charge, but retevis was quick to replace. The only thing that could be improved would be the speaker volume. In a noisier environment it may be helpful to get a mic. Overall a great radio
high power radio, which communicate with 10meters ,long distance radio
In DMR simplex these radios work very well even though they do not have a TX beep which is very annoying. In DMR duplex (repeater), they TX on BOTH time slots which, oddly enough are labeled 0 and 1 in the CPS. I'm forced to remove any repeater activity and use these for simplex operations only. Retevis, if you need to contact me about this you have my work email. - Barry
The time slot issue has been resolved and now the radios work fine for basic simplex and duplex conversations. Private call does not work. There is no TX beep in digital. Installing the driver so I could program the radios was absolute hell. However, if you can get past all this, the price point on these are good radios. Since the employees in my company eat radios like candy, I see myself buying many, many more of these. I just hope Retevis does not discontinue these like they did the RT50.
These radios are the real thing. A clean, 10-watt digital DMR signal paired with a decent antenna will mean serious range and woods penetration. high power radio make to Easily acheive 8-10 miles through wilderness and heavily wooded areas handheld to handheld inside a car! Please make sure you have your amateur license and don't just buy these, flip them to channel 1 and go. These radios are very advanced and can be used in both analog and digital uhf modes which is great for emergency access to repeaters! These are my everywhere radios, kayaking, snowmobiling you name it. If you don't need a display, save a few bucks by getting these very rugged radios over the ones with the green display. Battery life is awesome and these radios will standby for about a week. I don't know how great it is to have 10 watts radiating this close to your face but the comms are great! Digital signal takes some getting used to but overall I would prefer a digital conversation any day...
The radios were purchased since we had a couple of jobs that were underground and I wanted our crew to be able to communicate and be safe. we used the radios for about two days and one of my workers broke the tabs off of the battery when he was trying to put it in place (I ave no idea how he did this) so it had to be held together with a zip-ty. I noticed he had the zip-ty on there and asked him what happened and he just said that he tried to jam it in place and broke it. I contacted the seller and sent them a photo and short description of the issue and had a new battery sent to me at no charge within a few days. Way cool. He also tore up one of the ear pieces when he was pulling some cable up to the top of a hole and he caught it on the ear piece wire and yanked it out of his ear.....this guy is hard on my equipment...not sure how much longer I can afford to keep him...hahahha. Overall the radios work. I took one to home Depot and was able to communicate up to about 2 miles away. We are working in an underground tank that is 30' below the surface of a parking lot and is 120' wide by 250' long and we have no issues communicating to the topside. These are pretty good quality for the price. One of my workers races trophy trucks and Class 1 buggies in Baja and he is familiar with these types of radios. He was surprised at the quality, features and the functionality of the radios for the cost. So I guess you can say that they are good value and function pretty well.
Radio is great in battery life and clarity. It transmits when on a channel that is programmed RX only. It's a emergency radio.
Good quality, good range, easy to program. Not super loud on std military type headset. No way to check the battery, only a warning when low.
As for the radio itself, it appears to be well made and is solid in the hand. I have no complaints about build quality and the fact that it's waterproof is a plus for us since we live in the rainy Pacific Northwest and my wife and my children often walks our dog in the rain. The radio can potentially operate at longer distances since it's 10 wattsbut I haven't tested range and frankly I'm skeptical that the added wattage will make a significant range distance especially since we have an MD380 on one end and an RT81 on the other.
The RT81 is exactly what I was looking for. A dead simple radio with no display and not a lot of buttons to get in the way. It is a solid utilitarian radio that can be used in the outdoor elements. I also purchased a Retevis waterproof speaker microphone so my wife can keep the radio in her pocket or on her belt with the microphone near her shoulder. This makes it easier for her to talk when holding a dog leash in one hand, while pressing the microphone button with her other hand.
I strongly do to buy the RT81P, The RT81 is designed more like a business radio. Something that you program with a computer, give it to an employee and it just works. it's very to easy to use, They can accidentally turn the knob to change channels but they can't change a lot of other options. To avoid accidental channel changes all 16 channels on the rotary knob could be set to the same frequency, or the user could just be told to always have the rotary channel knob all the way to the left or they will be dipped in hot oil.
Only a small problem. Old Cable and old software with her work, and therefore the old file frequencies in it is filled with,i generally, RT81P ham radio is the good choice.
The device is beautiful and sturdy radio! The first tests surprised me too. Could download the program and set up the computer without much difficulty, all came very well packed and very quickly. Thanks retevis and soon will be buying more products.
My wife and I use radios to communicate when she's walking our dog. I bought this radio to replace a TYT MD380 that she has been using for some time. The is a fine radio but it has a lot of buttons and some of them can not be locked out. On a few occasions my wife accidentally changed channels and we could not communicate. Since our primary use of radios is for safety I wanted a radio that was less likely to be accidentally messed up.the RT81P is easy to use。
The RT81P is a great radio for those looking to use in a Part 90 application. Pros: Sound quality is clear, radio is easy to use, reception is as good as it gets, and the radio feels quite rugged. Battery life is excellent. Cons: Encryption is not compatible with the Ailunce HD1. CPS could use more refinement.
