How to set up the repeater function of RA87?

RA87 is a very powerful GMRS radio. One of its special features is that two RA87 radios can be used as a repeater. Today we will take a look at how to use only the repeater function of RA87.

The first stage; preparation work

1 data cable, 2 RA87 radios.

The second stage; specific steps

Step 1: Connect two RA87s with data cables

Step 2: Set the two RA87s to the same relay channel. (Transmit 462-467.995 in VFO mode, receive unlimited) or use the existing relay channel.

The figure below is the information of the repeater channel

Step 3; As shown below, two RA87s form a simple repeater, such as 21RP channel

Phase 3: Verify relay function

1. Take two machines. Machine A is used as the transmitter and the transmitting and receiving frequencies are set to 462.7000. Machine B is used as the receiving end and the transmitting and receiving frequencies are set to 467.7000.

2. Then machine A transmits and receives the signal through RA87 and then automatically relays the signal to machine B.

    On the RA 87 how do I get the sub frequency to work? I am able to switch sides Left/Right but the sub frequency does not work. Jeff
