Having Trouble Powering on Your RT97L GMRS Repeater? Follow these steps to get quick check.

The RT97L GMRS Repeater is high-performance and portable, which is designed for outdoor adventures and emergency scenarios. To ensure you get the most out of your device, we’ve prepared a step-by-step startup self-check guide if you have trouble powering on.

Step 1: Check the Power Adapter

Observe the adapter’s indicator light:

  • ✅ Light is ON: Try updating the device firmware. If the issue persists, proceed to Step 3: Voltage Check.

❌ Light is OFF: Switch to the included car charger (12V cable) for power.

● Success? Your adapter may be faulty. Contact support for a free replacement.

● Still no power? Move to Step 2.

Step 2: Inspect the Device Internally

Carefully remove the front/back covers and check for:

● Burn marks, blackened areas, or a smoky odor. Snap clear photos and email us. We’ll replace the damaged parts or entire unit.

● No visible damage? Proceed to Step 3.

Step 3: Voltage Check (Advanced)

Requires a multimeter. Measure voltage between these pins:

● Pin Set A: Should read 13.8V.

● Pin Set B: Should read 3.6V.

  • Results:

    • 🔋 One set missing voltage? Power board issue—we’ll send a replacement.

    • ⚡ Both voltages normal? Likely a motherboard fault—we’ll replace it.

New 97L. Using 5 foot antenna and coax both came with the repeater. SWR 1.2 with 19 watts out. Tried many different transcievers with correct transmit ctcss and no receive tone. The 97L is doing no better than simplex. HELP
