Yes. The 15-meter 50-3 pure copper coaxial extender cable for the RT97 works with the RT97L. Note that the RT97L antenna cable has been upgraded to 15 meters of 50-7 cable, which has lower loss than the previous version.
Yes, the RT97L can be adapted to an N-type connector. We recommend two options. Use an adapter: the most cost-effective method, inexpensive and with no signal loss. Or replace the connector yourself: if you do, use coaxial cable with a 4 mm outer diameter, and work carefully - improper replacement can damage the paint and affect waterproofing.
Yes. The RT97L comes pre-programmed with 16 GMRS channels set to GMRS standards, including dedicated GMRS repeater frequency points for regulatory compliance. The first 8 channels are wideband and the remaining 8 narrowband, so you can switch between the two bandwidth settings without extra programming.

The difference can be significant. At 5W, long-distance calls may come through weak or not at all; at 25W, range improves and signals stay clearer and more reliable over much longer distances. Power is not the only factor - antenna height matters too. When your site cannot get elevation, the higher power setting helps extend range.
Factory output measures between 22W and 25W. Operating through a duplexer introduces some loss: expect roughly 15W-22W depending on the quality, thickness, and length of the feeder cable.

No. The standard RB48 is a license-free FRS radio with 22 channels and up to 2W of power. The RB48 Plus is the GMRS version with 5W of power and relay channels for repeater use. They share the same rugged IP67 housing and accessory ecosystem, but they operate on different services and are not interchangeable for repeater work.
