Featuring 8 GMRS repeater channels, a 10W transmitter with a full 5W output power after the duplexer, and a built-in notch duplexer, all you need to do is add an antenna and feeder cable to get on the air. A USB programming cable is also included to program the repeater to your channel and CTCSS/DCS tones of choice.

Retevis RT97S repeater size is only 260 x 210 x 70mm. It is very small and compact, convenient to carry, and very useful for outdoor use and for families, individuals, and groups. You can also install it on the top of the mountain to build your own base station.

This repeater is a great asset for the price! It works great! Handhelds are also pretty.
Bought a set of these with the intention of using them to help a group of Cub Scouts get around on various outings. The radio works great. I've used them in more different terrains with no issues. The weather alert feature of these radios is very effective. The safety of my Scouts is my top priority. Being alert to changes in weather is absolutely crucial. It's easy to install and carry repeaters outdoors. We use repeaters to extend the range when we're hiking in dense woods.
We love this little repeater! We mount the antenna up to about 30 meters (or more), with a coverage range of over 15 miles. If you have a large property, you could mount those up on top of a silo or tower. The repeater got a DB9 pin out for external interfacing. It's perfect if you want to get a backyard repeater up and linked to one of the GMRS networks taking over GMRS.
