I found this a good unit. Its very easy to program & set-up.
Simple to use and program. As long as expectations for range don't exceed common sense, you'll be happy. It is only a 10 watt repeater with just above 5 watts out of the duplexer. It is a quality unit. Glad I bought one.
Repeater kit comes with everything you need to set up. Seems to be built very sturdy with a metal case. Suggest downloading software which is required to set privacy tones. My antenna is on a 35 ft tower. My area is rolling hills with lots of woods and can get 5 miles reliably, up to 10 miles from hilltops.

Great unit, easy setup with everything you need to setup you own duplex repeater. Software makes it a breeze to your repeater channel.
We had a road that goes through a smaller valley on our farm and always lose GMRS signal for a couple seconds. We placed this repeater in the barn near this area and it solved our dead spot issues.
I ordered my repeater last Sunday. Item shipped Mondy and I should have it by the end of the week. So far so good!
My short review of this bundle, after 2 weeks. RT97S, Incredible price, OK performance. You’re going to have a hard time beating this repeater. Quality is a little iffy, with the TX getting stuck occasionally if your transmission is quiet or too short. AC adaptor is bulky, unrated(UL or intertek), cable doesn’t even seat right. Would prefer a bare Anderson type lead or not include an AC adaptor. Programming software was not usable as downloaded as it is defaulted to Chinese and my computer did not have characters installed so couldn’t even translate. Programming software and instructions are very sparse but easy enough to learn. Mast antenna seems to be quite solid except the small aluminum tube at the base, which is only held on with a single bolt, and not the tightest tolerances. Edge of the tubing was quite sharp, and could damage coax if not mitigated. HA1G, robust and quality, missing some features. Really impressed by the HA1G, preforms better than some higher or similar priced handhelds in my urban environment tests. USB C charging on the cradles and batteries is always nice to have, making traveling or camping way simpler. Screen is very bright on max, however font, size and color choice, combined with the viewing angle can make some menus very hard to read, however the main channel view is solid. I’d like to see better DTMF, radio ID, and tone scanning added. So far the biggest feature I miss vs my GMRS pro is Bluetooth. Wish the software was open source.
retevis has many repeater and handset combination packages. I was hesitating between this combination and the RB26 combination. I finally chose this one because the HA1G has more functions. I like this two way radio with many functions. . I have the repeater installed in my attic so that my friends and I can talk to each other anytime within the confines of the community.
Awesome repeater. Everything is set and ready to go. Documentation is good. Software is easy to use.
Live in Albuquerque, Nm seems like this unit can get around 8 miles, hoping to play with antenna.
