This radio truly earns the ‘Heavy Duty’ name. The military-grade shell has withstood drops from ladders and being knocked around in service vehicles. It shows scratches on the orange finish, but zero functional issues. Built for a lifetime of hard use.
Pretty good little radio
The covert acoustic tube earpiece is perfect for my security detail. Communication is crystal clear and completely private. No one around knows I’m receiving instructions. It maintains a low profile while ensuring perfect coordination with the team.
Working in urban maintenance, we need penetration through concrete and steel. The RT29’s UHF signal with high-gain antenna gets into parking garages, basements, and across multiple floors better than any VHF radio we tried. Reliable connectivity is key, and this delivers.
The 22-25 hours of continuous use is no exaggeration. We used these on a 3-day field inspection with no charging options. They lasted the entire time with power to spare. The 3200mAh battery is an absolute beast for off-grid operations.
The 0-9 adjustable squelch is fantastic. In an amusement park with constant background noise, I can fine-tune it to block out the crowd and only let through actual transmissions. It eliminates that constant low-level static, so you only hear what matters.
The bright orange color is a game-changer on a busy construction site. If I set it down on materials or in the dirt, I can spot it instantly. It’s not just a color; it’s a safety and productivity feature that saves time and frustration every single day.
Easy to Use
Overall, it's not bad.
I could reach 2 miles in suburb clearly & 3 miles with some static. Thats way better than other radios that I have purchased (7 brands that claim 35miles +). Also durable & waterproof. Wife dropped in the lake and it survived with no issues. Love the long battery life. The antenna is long but worth it with the talking distance and clarity.
2.60 miles working on a farm is pretty good compare to other radios
Great radios for the price. Programmable allowing me to use in group settings to communicate with inferior radios.
Work long range and work great
I get a 5 mile range out of these they're very rugged and well worth the money a very useful for outdoor communication as well as trail riding five star review and many of my family have bought some as well. We can all stay on the same channel and communicate.
