About a year later and this is still a great purchase. Love how easy it is to manage these radios and how easy it is to charge the radios because of the base.Bought these for a business and they work great. Good range, good sound quality and the antenna does not get in the way.

Goes a long distance.
The radios worked great for close range, but did not go as far as advertised. They were advertised to go up to 100 miles, and only went 2
I bough these last minute because we had a a group of 4 trucks going to a lake trip/ trail run.The radios Are ready to use out of the box, just set the radios to the same channel and start using them AFTER you charge them of course. the radios are light study and the shoulder mics have a nice grip. Signal strengths for us was about 1.5 miles. If you need these for a group of cars that will be following each other they will work just fine. Both the speaker on the radio and on the shoulder mic are loud and clear.
I've ordered 8 radios total and they work very well. Had an issue with one and the seller was very responsive and fixed the issue. We use these to organize community events with large crowds. External speaker/mic near your shoulder makes it possible to hear in loud environments. Range is very good. Keep in mind that terrain and buildings will limit the range. These aren't cell phones. Overall, works great, good value for the money, and no better alternative.

The RT29D is overall a great radio, with one setback, Which I hope can be corrected in a future software/firmware update. Cons: - Contrary to the product description, the programming software only allows for 2 zones of 16 channels each. So this radio is currently capable of 32 memory channels. Hopefully a software update will address this. I will reach out to Retevis support about this. Pros: - Rugged, not afraid to get it a bit wet or if it suffers a drop from 8 to 10 feet. - Excellent battery - after conditioning batteries by draining and recharging twice we are getting over 24 hours in standby/light use amazing) - Battery and Encryption compatibility with Ailunce HD1* (if that is of interest to your business). - USB C charge capable batteries are now available (don't need a charging stand to maintain on the road). - At 10W DMR, we were able to hit talk to handset inside a concrete structure, from inside a moving vehicle from just over a mile and a half. This was with with hundreds of other concrete structures obscuring Line of sight. Pretty amazed. Would have probably gotten another half mile or mile if using a roof mount mobile Antenna. - Ease of use - You could easily hand this off to non technical individual and they would be able to operate with no issue.
