The RT97P is the DMR digital model: 10W, dual mode (DMR digital plus FM analog), available in UHF or VHF. The RT97 is a 5W analog GMRS repeater. Choose the RT97P for digital and mixed fleets; choose the RT97 for GMRS handhelds.
It works with Retevis DMR radios such as the NR30D, RT29D, RT81, and RT50, and with other DMR radios that follow the ETSI-TS102 361 Tier II protocol (4FSK).
Yes. The RT97P runs in DMR digital, FM analog, or combined DMR+FM mode, so legacy analog radios keep working through the repeater alongside your digital fleet.
They are separate units: the UHF variant covers 400-470 MHz and the VHF variant covers 136-174 MHz. Match the variant to the band your radios use; a Customizable option covers specific frequency plans.
Three options: the AC wall adapter at base, the 12V/24V vehicle cigarette-lighter plug on the road, or a solar panel setup off-grid. Both the AC adapter and the car plug come with the repeater.
Yes. Low power draw, a small footprint, and 12-24V DC input make the RT97P well suited to solar-powered repeater sites - the exact use case it was designed for.
Not waterproof. The RT97P uses a rugged, water-resistant housing adapted from cable TV amplifier enclosures, and the spec table lists no waterproof rating. Mount it indoors or in a sheltered spot and keep the antenna outside.
Range depends mainly on antenna height, gain, and terrain. Mount the antenna as high and clear as possible - on a mast, rooftop, or hilltop - and a 10W repeater covers from a few miles in rough terrain to tens of miles in open country.
The base RT97P package includes the repeater and two power adapters, but no antenna or feeder cable. Choose the RT97P + Antenna + Cable bundle for a ready-to-go kit.
It is a made-to-order RT97P: the factory configures the unit to your band and frequency plan. Choose it when the standard UHF or VHF presets do not match your license, and confirm the configuration with Retevis before ordering.
