The RT97L receives transmissions from the RB48 Pro handhelds and rebroadcasts them at 25W through its built-in duplexer and antenna. Because the repeater can be mounted high - on a roof, tower, or top floor - it extends coverage through concrete, steel, and multi-story structures that normally block handheld-to-handheld contact. Its 16 GMRS channels are programmable within +/-5 MHz of the center frequency to match your site.

Yes. The radios and repeater in each bundle are set up to operate together on matched channels out of the box. If you need specific frequencies or CTCSS/DCS tones for your site, contact Retevis support before ordering to arrange programming.
Handheld-to-handheld range for this class of radio typically runs from about half a mile in obstructed areas to a couple of miles in open terrain. With the RT97L repeater mounted high and in the open, coverage extends substantially - the 10-30 mile figure assumes elevated mounting and favorable terrain. Antenna height, gain, feedline loss, and building structure remain the biggest variables.
The RT97L operates on GMRS repeater frequencies, which require an FCC GMRS license in the United States. The RB48 Pro is a 10W radio, so its operating authorization depends on the frequencies it is programmed to - confirm your planned frequencies with Retevis support or a frequency coordinator before deployment.

The RB48 Pro handhelds are IP67 rated - submersible to 1 meter for 30 minutes - and drop-tested from 2 meters. The RT97L repeater is IP66 rated for heavy rain and dust, with an aluminum chassis supporting 24/7 operation and a low-temperature heating system that maintains operation down to -30°C.
Each bundle includes ten-way multi-unit chargers - one charger per ten radios (1, 2, 5, or 10 chargers depending on the configuration). Desktop charging bases and spare batteries for the RB48 series are also available separately.
Bundles are offered from 10 up to 100 RB48 Pro radios. A conventional repeater processes one transmission at a time, so for very large crews we recommend organizing users into channel groups so the repeater channel stays available for priority traffic.
